Rex Maynard is the youngest son of Maynard’s founder, Al Maynard. He began working at Maynard’s part time in the summers in 1961 and full time in June, 1969 after graduating from Wofford College. During the past 50+ years he has worked as a member of the warehouse & delivery staff and served as the Warehouse & Delivery Supervisor, Store Manager and company CEO and President. He currently serves as Maynard’s Chief Financial Officer and President. Rex has been involved in many areas of the home furnishings industry, serving as President and a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Southern Home Furnishings Association and as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the National Home Furnishings Association. He received the Willis Award of Merit for his contributions to the furniture industry, his community and his God in 1989 and was recognized with the Furniture World Award of Merit in 1997. He is very active as a volunteer for the United States Tennis Association as well as United Way and numerous other community organizations. Rex and his wife Louise have four children and twelve grandchildren.
Alderman joined the company in 1999 after graduating from Wofford College. Alderman is currently the VP and Chief Sales Officer of the company. He has been married to his wife, Kathleen, since 2002 and they have two children, Boyd and Brice. When away from work, Alderman enjoys spending time with his family and also spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
Blake joined the company in 2004 after graduating from Wofford College. Blake is currently the Secretary and Chief Operating Officer of the company. He has been married to his wife, Jean Anne, since 2006, and they have two children, Blake and Annie. Blake enjoys family time, fishing, and golf during his time away from work.
Marti has been with Maynard’s since 2000. Marti is a member of Maynard’s sales and design team. Marti and husband Jim have two sons Brad and Bryan, and two grand daughters, Reagan and Hailey. Marti has a passion for design, people, and Clemson, where her husband played football. She also loves relaxing at her mountain cabin in Clayton with family, grand daughters and friends.
In November 1999, Kathleen, an Anderson native, joined Maynard’s in sales and design. A graduate of Erskine College, she is the mother of an 18 year old son, Thomas, who will be a freshman at the University of South Carolina in the fall of 2012. Kathleen’s attention to detail and desire to please her clients are two of her strongest attributes. She is active in her church, enjoys time with Thomas, her family and friends as well as gardening in her spare time. She is Maynard’s resident gardener, too!
Claudia has been working at Maynard’s since 2004. Claudia currently manages the Accounts Receivables department and is the key member of Maynard’s office staff. Claudia and her husband Douglas have two sons, Brett and Justin. Claudia’s blood runs orange and she loves all things Clemson. Claudia is active in her church and has a passion for young people. She has been a preschool Sunday School teacher for 30 years.
Preston has been working at Maynard’s since 1994. Preston started out delivering furniture and is now the Warehouse & Delivery Manager. Preston’s work ethic and outgoing personality make him a key member of Maynard’s management staff. Preston enjoys spending time with his wife, four sons and shooting even par golf.
John joined the company in 1972 after graduating from Georgia Southwestern State University. John has a lot of experience in all phases of the furniture business and is currently the Sales Manager at the Piedmont location. He has been married to his wife, Deborah, since 1972, and has two daughters and four grandchildren. John is an avid gardener and is very active in the Presbyterian Church USA.
Charles has been a valuable member of Maynard’s design and sales staff since 2003. Charles and his wife Brenda have two daughters and four grandchildren. Charles is also an accomplished furniture craftsman with many of his pieces in prominent locations in Greenville, including Furman University. Charles has been in the furniture business for over 45 years and has a wealth of knowledge about quality furniture.
